5 Restaurants with the Best Breakfast in Gatlinburg
During your trip to the Smoky Mountains, you are most likely going to want to eat out for breakfast, and we want to share our top 5 restaurant recommendations with the best breakfast in Gatlinburg. All these locations are close to our unique Gatlinburg attraction, so you can stop by after a delicious meal!
1. Crockett’s Breakfast Camp
Crockett’s Breakfast Camp provides the ultimate Smoky Mountain dining experience. Their mountain lodge setting and friendly Southern hospitality set them apart, plus their food is delicious! Choose from thick griddle cakes, meaty breakfast skillets, stuffed omelets, and build your own cathead biscuit breakfast sandwich! This restaurant honors the legacy of David C. “Crockett” Maples, an original Appalachian frontiersman, adding a unique historical significance to your dining experience.
2. Log Cabin Pancake House
Another fantastic spot for breakfast is Log Cabin Pancake House. They serve breakfast all day and have free parking! You can get just about any combination of pancake or crepe imaginable, and we highly recommend the Cabin Special, which is buckwheat pancakes with crushed pineapple, hot syrup, and whipped margarine. Another great choice is their tender golden cornmeal cakes topped with whipped margarine and served with honey or hot syrup!
3. Smoky Mountain Creperie
If you’re looking for something quick to grab on the go, we suggest trying Smoky Mountain Creperie for the best breakfast in Gatlinburg. Located right on the Parkway, this little eatery makes the best sweet and savory crepes. From Nutella and fruit crepes to ham, cheese, and bacon crepes, this delicious breakfast food will satisfy everyone’s hungry stomachs. Even if it’s not for breakfast, they make a great snack any time of the day!
4. The Pancake Pantry
One of the original pancake houses, Pancake Pantry definitely serves one of the best breakfasts in Gatlinburg. They open every day bright and early at 7 AM, and you will notice longer wait times during peak, busy seasons. But the wait is well worth it–they serve a full range of breakfast food, from omelets to eggs and hashbrowns, but of course, they’re best known for pancakes. Their pancakes are piping hot and melt in your mouth, with lots of different options to customize them. One of our favorites is the wildberry crepes, a combination of 5 berries in a delicious compote covering three crepes filled with a ricotta and cream cheese mixture, then sprinkled with powdered sugar and topped with real whipped cream. They are out of this world good!
5. Sun Diner
The Sun Diner is the restaurant’s second location (the original was founded in Nashville TN), bringing the iconic spirit of music legends who recorded at Sun Records to the Smoky Mountains. Both the diner’s interior and menu pay homage to the greats, including Elvis, Johnny Cash, and more. Favorite dishes include the chicken and waffles smothered in sausage gravy, the “Let’s Do The Twist” Creme Brulee French Toast, and the iconic donut sandwich, which is a pork sausage patty, fried egg, and cheese sandwiched between two freshly made donuts!
